Hello! I'm glad you could make it.

My name is Jonathan Niesen. I am a web developer, the nerdy husband of a wonderful wife and a soon to be dad. I enjoy coding fun, cutting edge, websites that allow me to use newer technologies and experiment with JavaScript. Especially the ones that let me flex my JavaScript muscle.

Have a look around. You can start by choosing a project from the list at the top or give your keyboard arrows a shot. If you see something you like don't hesitate to call or email me.

Thanks again for stopping by,
Jonathan Niesen

    Dan Landoni, Photographer

  • Skillset:

Secretary CMS, PHP, HTML, CSS, jQuery

  • Description:

Dan Landoni wanted a portfolio that would be easy to update, had a minimalistic design and simple navigation.

The design was done by Alex Landoni and the back-end is a customized version of Secretary CMS.

I translated the design into HTML and CSS then created an infinite scroller that you can navigate with a mouse or arrow keys.

    Pearl Ministries, Non Profit

  • Skillset:

Photoshop, Illustrator, Wordpress, HTML, CSS, PHP, sIFR, jQuery

  • Description:

Pearl Ministries wanted to take their Christmas fundraiser online so they could spread the word and sell to a wider market. They contacted me to build this informational website with a shop.

I designed the website in Photoshop and Illustrator. Then I converted the design into a Wordpress theme using HTML, CSS and a little PHP. A Wordpress plugin was used to add the store functionality to the content management system.

I used sIFR for the fonts, but I'd probably use CSS if I were doing it today.

    Alex Landoni, Graphic Designer

  • Skillset:

    SecretaryCMS, PHP, HTML, CSS

  • Description:

Alex Landoni wanted a simple blog style portfolio to present his upcoming work on a semi-regular basis. He needed something simple that he could update quicky and easily, by himself.

He designed the site and sent it to me as a Photoshop file. I proceeded to extract the images I needed from the static files and convert his design into valid HTML markup with cascading style sheets.

To make it easy for him to update I used the Secretary CMS and created a template based on the approved markup.
